How to play Russian Solitaire

Make Russian Solitaire your next activity in the game library. Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Treat the first round as a chance to learn the controls. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Yukon-style deal, same-suit building, no stock. Free solo play, no wagering.

Make the controls familiar

Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart. Use the example to check your reasoning.

Your goal

Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. Check the rules when you are unsure.

Step by step

  1. Move any face-up card and its tail onto the next higher rank of the same suit. Kings fill empty columns.
  2. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
  3. Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Controls

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. Make sure you are interacting with the game rather than the surrounding page.

A useful example

A heart 6 fits a heart 7, not a spade 7. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Check the stated objective.

Watch out for this

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use.
